WINE ORBIT - 95 POINTS
Opulent and powerful with grace and harmony, the wine shows dark fruit richness, toasted spice, cedary oak and mocha characters on the nose. The palate delivers excellent concentration with plush texture and layers of silky tannins, making it velvety and sumptuous with a sustained, satisfying finish
WINE PILOT - 95 POINT
The colour here is a deep maroon/purple. There are lashings of oak, but this is more than matched by the plush rich fruit here. Notes of mocha, chocolate, coffee beans, mulberries, soy and aniseed. Seamless in structure and ever-so-seductive, there are cushiony tannins with a persistent finish, which maintains intensity for the full length. A really attractive red which will cellar very well for at least ten to twelve years.
PALATE: Rich palate of black fruit and chocolate with delicate spice notes
SERVE: Room temperature
PAIR: Slow-cooked lamb shanks
