WINE ORBIT 95 POINTS
This is bold and robust with blackberry, vanillin oak, cinnamon and dark chocolate characters on the nose, followed by a wonderfully flavour some palate delivering excellent power, structure and persistency. Richly textured and plush with a long opulent finish. At its best: now to 2033. $65.00.
WINE PILOT 93 POINTS
From a superb vintage, this has the approachability and generosity that one expects from this region’s finest. It spent time in new American oak with the final blend a barrel selection.
Dark magenta, there are notes of plums, chocolate, mocha, blackberries and cassis. There is ample evidence of that Langhorne Creek plushness. Some warm earthiness. There is focus and balance here, with the structure well layered. Supple tannins, we see some early complexity and surely can expect more over the forthcoming years. Good length. This has at least ten years ahead of it, over which time the score will surely rise.
PALATE: Displays a rich palate of black fruit and chocolate with delicate spice notes
SERVE: Room temperature
PAIR: Roast meats and barbecue.
