Alessandra adores Corryton Park. After being introduced to this beautiful 1850s homestead by her love, she decided to be married there. Her husband's wedding gift to her was a signature wine of her own.

The grapes for Alessandra were grown in Grant Burge's Corryton Park vineyard high in the cool-climate Eden Valley, and blended seamlessly with small lots from the Barossa Valley floor to capture rich, velvety texture and full fruit flavours.

Tasting Notes

WINE ORBIT 96 POINTS
It's wonderfully complex and enticing on the nose with crème de cassis, smoked game, cedar and potpourri characters, followed by a richly expressed palate offering fleshy texture backed by fine-grained tannins. Mouthfilling and wonderfully flavoursome, finishing persistent and satisfying. At its best: now to 2028.

WINE PILOT 95 POINTS
A blend of fruit from the Corryton Park estate at Eden Valley and the Barossa Valley floor. The colour is an attractive mature red and the wine is still full of life, even with a decade under its belt. It is, perhaps, this freshness which most surprises and delights. Notes of plums, chocolate, coffee beans, leather and licorice. The palate moves to cassis, aniseed and blackberries. There is richness of flavour here, but the balance is retained throughout. Silky tannins. This is drinking superbly at the moment and surely has at least another decade ahead of it. So much to like here.

NOSE: Super fine and elegant nose of cedar, cigar box, tobacco and intense fruit perfume of blackcurrant and mulberry.
PALATE: Black fruits and fine chalky Cabernet complexities, which linger effortlessly on an ever-ending delicate finish.
SERVE: Decant at least 30 minutes before serving.
PAIR: Perfectly cooked steak and good conversation.

Winemaking

VINEYARD: 50/50 blend of two premium Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, namely the famous old vine Corryton Park in high Eden Valley and Moppa Springs Estate, just outside of the Greenock township.
WINEMAKING: Matured for two years in new French oak and then a further three years in bottle prior to release, in order for the wine to properly mature to a suitable drinking age.
CELLARING: Ready to drink now, but will reward further patience for up to 20 years.
